Thanks to you, 2018 was an incredible year! With your help, our programming provided 350 residents the knowledge they need to grow food in Flagstaff. We also put $4,300 into the hands of food-insecure families to purchase locally-grown food at our Flagstaff farmers markets! This also means an additional $4,300 went towards our local growers and local food economy.
Additionally, we launched the Flagstaff Fruit Tree Project, a community urban gleaning effort. This program is designed to increase food access, divert food waste, and build community in the midst of an awesome fruit tree yield!
Beyond that, we worked to expand the government and state-funded program Double Up Food Bucks in our community, which allowed 113 SNAP recipients to double their dollars while shopping for Arizona grown produce. In partnership with the Flagstaff C.S.A., we brought Double Up Food Bucks to the first grocery store in Arizona! Now Double Up Food Bucks participants can use the program all year long.
