Basics of the Barrel: Rainwater Harvesting Workshop

  • Coconino Cooperative Extension Office 2304 North 3rd Street Flagstaff, AZ, 86004 United States (map)

A rain barrel is a low-cost and simple way to begin harvesting rainwater and snowmelt.  Setting up your rain barrel correctly will allow you to have a functional method of collecting the water that falls freely from the sky.  This workshop will cover calculating rainwater volume, gutter and downspout installation, rain barrel retrofitting, and much more.  The City of Flagstaff Water Conservation Program will be on hand to deliver a limited number of free barrels to City of Flagstaff residents.   Workshop is free, but RSVP is required: 928-773-6102 or brianmoody@email.arizona.edu
