Linking the Flagstaff community to healthy local & regional food

Education: Flagstaff Youth Gardens

We dream that every child in Flagstaff grows up eating healthy local food and knowing where it comes from and who grew it. We see a garden at every school in Flagstaff so are creating a resource website for educators seeking to start or sustain a youth garden at their school. The website will include K-12 curricula aligned to Arizona state standards.

Outreach: Community Agriculture Project

Flagstaff Foodlink would like to welcome Jamie Fredricks to the CAP!  If you're interested in the Bonito Street Garden or the Izabel Street Garden, please contact us at FlagCommunityGardens(at)gmail.com. Garden Starts CSA

Flagstaff Garden Starts CSA is a community-supported agricultural model of food production and distribution aimed at increasing the quality of food and the quality of care given our land and the plants that it supports.

The Greater Flagstaff Food Policy Council

Foodlink also has catalyzed the Greater Flagstaff Food Policy Council. The GFFPC is currently focused on ensuring the City of Flagstaff fosters an environment conducive to urban agriculture in its 2011 re-write of the Zoning Code and its 2012 Regional Plan.

Local FARE

Concerned with food security, food justice, economic resilience and sustainability, a group of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, staff and local small business owners have set out to answer that question. Late this spring, they launched Local FARE, a TRIF funded research project that aims to build our local food economy.

Urban Farming Project

The Urban Farm Project seeks to demonstrate an economically viable urban growing model for the burgeoning Flagstaff local foods movement. The Urban Farm will help diversify our local economy and assist in re-circulating our food dollars in the community.  The Feasibility study was completed in 2010, and though the original proposed property was not a viable option, FFL has the study in hand for any future opportunities.
